The GROVE
When The Christopher Companies purchased a challenging TND site in Fairfax Virginia they contacted our team of architectural designers to help them develop products that would make the most of the strict architectural guidelines.
Maple Trace as the community is known is held up as a successful example of a small, well designed infill development that offers a high end product on small 46’ wide lots. |
Published as a notable example of excellent “New Urbanism” development by the Urban Land Institute and celebrated with a prestigious Silver Best in American Living Award for its’ architecture and land plan this development has been much touted for its’ strong architectural character and inviting neighborhood feel. Front setbacks are small at 10’ from the back of the sidewalk; as such every elevation includes a covered front porch. By providing eight different elevations for each home you are left with the impression that no two homes are identical on the street. With extremely livable alley loaded plans and a strong mix of classically detailed porch oriented elevations our team hit a home run with this community for the Christopher Companies.
Designed at 2,581 square feet and a mere 30’ wide with an alley loaded garage, the Grove is the gracious counterpart to the Parkland.
